We have found a great place where toddlers can safely burn off lots of energy, practice some gymnastics skills and most importantly have lots of fun.
Rushmoor Gymnastics is a huge place for the under 5s to safely explore at their own leisure. With soft padded floor and lots of interesting equipment to use and a few other fun activities it really is a child’s dream place to be.
As soon as we arrived Isabella made a beeline for the rings, previously when we have done any gym classes this is her favourite and today was no different. She was swinging back and forth, and her arm strength really surprised me as she kept hanging on for ages. A fun twist on things was she kept twisting the rings, so meant she spun round and around in circles really fast.
She was a natural on the balancing beam, and was literally running across them (I was on tender hooks in case she fell) but she was like a bolt of lightning going across the beams. She had the right coordination and balance to master this.
Noah loved the foam pit area, there was a beam over head where you could hold on for as long as you can, but if you give up then you drop into the sea of foam blocks. This provides great fun, and both children loved sliding down into the foam pit and getting lost between the blocks.
There was also a bouncy castle which the children could enjoy, ride on toys, little bikes to whiz around on, foam soft play shapes to build towers out of it, tunnels to climb through and even a slide to add even more excitement.
I loved seeing some of the old gymnastic equipment which I remember using when I was at school. There was of course the hanging rope, which you had to try and climb up. Even when I was younger I could never master this, and my feet pretty much stayed on the floor.
It’s clear to see that Noah will follow in my footsteps, as he also couldn’t master his strength and climb to the top. There was also the wooden climbing apparatus on the wall, both Noah and Bella were having races trying to be number 1 and reach the top at record speed.
This was a lovely free play stay and play session, where all the different equipment was laid out for the children, and then they were able to explore at their own leisure. Everything was spaced out so it never felt overcrowded, and was easy to watch multiple children at one time too.
Playgym times – No booking, pay on the door. £3 for each child, and £2 for each accompanying adult (March 2025).
