Kings Brighton is a local independent 5th and 6th form college located in the heart of the city. The college opened in 2017, occupying impressive, contemporary and purpose-built premises and facilities.
It is the fourth UK college within the Kings group, which was founded in 1957. Over the years, Kings has built an international reputation for the high quality of its academic standards, student support and top university progression.

Kings Brighton is conveniently located in by ‘The Level’ park, with excellent transport links and access to all that Brighton and the surrounding area offers. The college is fully equipped with the latest learning resources and technology including Kings VLE (virtual learning environment), science laboratories and art studio. Kings provide GCSE, A-Level, Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ), Art & Design and International Foundation courses.
Kings is a fully co-educational independent school for students from the age of 15, providing Form 5 and Sixth Form for Day and Boarding students. The college provides a, motivating, inclusive and supportive environment in with an ethos of high expectations and standards with a strong culture of success.

The college has a highly personalised approach to learning, pastoral care, student welfare and development. Teachers have excellent specialist subject knowledge which they use to deepen learning and motivate students through thoughtful questioning. Students individual interests are understood and examples and resources, including the latest ICT, are used accordingly and engage students with their learning.
Teaching is conducted in small classes, with an average of 7 and no more than 10 students per class. The relationship between teachers and students is one of mutual respect, in a mature environment in which first names are used and without uniforms, ringing bells and school assemblies. Learning is gained through exploration and questioning of subject areas to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the course content. Students also develop transferable skills which they can apply to new concepts, problem solving and for their further studies.
Examination structure and marking criteria are explored to ensure students fully understand what examiners are looking for and how marks are allocated. Examination and revision strategies are integrated in to the learning and personal strategies are developed to ensure students maximise their performance and results achieved.

The support provided is not restricted to outstanding subject teaching. Personal Tutors oversee all aspects of students’ learning, development and welfare. Subject and Course Heads ensure students take full advantage of their opportunities and achieve their full potential. The college’s broad curriculum provides students to develop academically and benefit from a rich diet of other opportunities.
The college offers a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities including sports and cultural events. Students benefit from an extensive, 7 day a week, Monthly Activities Calendar which offers a wide range of activities clubs and societies. These cater for a broad range of interests and include: art, photography and music; Model U.N., economics, debating and charity fund raising; sports, yoga and salsa dancing. External trips widen students experience, self-confidence, social skills and community awareness and engagement.

Boarding students
Kings Brighton provides a range of accommodation options for students who wish to board. Facilities include an on-campus student residence with high-quality, single en-suite rooms with common rooms, laundry facilities and free wi-fi throughout. Other options include off-campus residences and student houses with self-catering, half and full-board options. The school also has a network of carefully selected local host families.
