All three of my boys have bounced at Jump Inc trampoline park in Bicester on numerous occasions and love it every time. Formerly called Rebound Revolution, it’s a great place for all ages from toddlers to teens to jump off some energy and a popular choice for birthday parties and cub scout trips.
The largest trampoline park Oxfordshire, Jump Inc packs in plenty to keep kids going for a whole session and makes a great alternative to traditional soft play appealing to a wider range of ages. They’ve stepped things up too with the additional of a huge inflatable play area.
If you’ve never been to a trampoline park before, it’s basically a large room with lots of trampolines all at the same level with padded walk ways between them. This means that there is no need for big nets like you have on a garden trampoline and kids can bounce from one trampoline to another.
The trampolines come in a variety of sizes from little squares to long strips that are great for somersaults (my boys not me or course). There are also angled trampoline walls to run up or perhaps bounce off but I’ve never quite worked them out and don’t dare throw my body at them! My eldest however is a whizz and pings along them like a parkour spiderman.
If you want to mix it up a little, you can feel like a basketball pro with some extra bounce to reach the hoops with your ball or compete against yourself to bounce high enough to reach buttons on a panel and light it up.
Fancy trying out your balance skills? There’s a giant pit of foam squares with a suspended beams that rotate as you traverse them. If you just want some all out flinging then there is a super sized giant inflatable pillow with trampoline run up. During the full open jump session there’s also a wipe out. Can you be the last one standing?
Giant Inflatable at Jump Inc Bicester
The new addition on our latest visit is the huge inflatable area. It’s like a massive bouncy castle with various routes and challenges. There are huge balls to leap onto, climbing areas, routes to run around and slides.
SEN Session Review
SENtipede is a blog run by mum of 3 boys, Leandra Hamblin of Kidlington. Leandra decided to start the blog to help her share her and her family’s SEN journey. Her eldest son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD around 3 years ago. Leandra kindly shares their experiences of SEN sessions and days out on Red Kite Days too.
These monthly sessions are aimed to reduce any additional stress, so they have ensured the following is in place;
- No whistles
- Disco lights turned off and music turned down
- Hard basketballs removed
- 5 /10 minute announcement before the end of the session
- Exclusivity & reduced capacity
- Extra staff
- An alternative option to wristbands if required
What I like about these sessions is that most families attending are regular visitors. This enables you to build a social group where you don’t feel judged. I’ve attended a standard session as well and I was quite amazed at the difference between the two!
The SEN sessions genuinely are a lot smaller, calmer and quieter. It was useful to be able to compare the two in order to appreciate the amount of adaptations the session brings to our SEN group.
Jump Inc Trampoline Sessions
Right, let’s talk sessions, you definitely need to check the Jump Inc Bicester website for the most appropriate session time and I’d say it’s best to book well in advance during school holidays or wet weekends.
Toddler Sessions
On Mondays & Fridays 10am – 12pm and every weekend 9am -10am during term time
There are toddler only sessions, for under 5s, which are ideal if you only have little ones as it means they can bounce freely without you having to worry about stumbling into the path of a big kid bouncer.
Wednesday 5th July, Wednesday 2nd August // 6-7pm
Open Jump is the whole trampoline park on full access and any ages can attend although it might be more relaxed if you have younger ones to go to the toddler session. I last visited on an open bound session with my 4, 8 and 10 year old boys and my little one was totally fine. The big ones took themselves off and I kept an eye on my little one but didn’t find it stressful at all.
The staff are all super friendly and helpful and on our last visit one of the crew did lots of somersaults and tricks to amuse my kids and played with my little one too.
