I was super excited when I heard about the brand new Liverpool visitor attraction Eureka! was coming to Liverpool. It’s a Science and Discovery museum designed for the whole family. It’s perfect for children up to the age of 14. However even myself as an adult found it interesting and very imaginative.
You will discover everything about the Human Body including all about your senses like sight and hearing, how your body works during exercise, breathing, the whole digestive system, find out about your brain, how feelings work and just everything about a growing body which any child would find relatable.
In each section of the museum there are hands on and interactive activities. There is so much information displayed all over the walls which is partnered with a physical display with something to lift, push or move to help explain how things work to the younger generation.
Another wonderful topic which is covered is Fabric and Space of our homes. This covers materials that your houses are made of and why they are used, the workings of the bathroom. All about clothing and fabrics. My girls favourite section was when they got to design their own tootherpaste including the packaging. This was done on a touch screen and then they could see their finished product up on a big TV and people could vote for the best one. They must have designed about 10 each.
The final section was all about Nature. There were yet more interactive touch screens with information about birds, how tides happen, about weather and climate change and endless information about our planet.
There is definitely plenty to keep the family busy for a good 2-3 hours. It’s all about learning some seriously cool stuff, and having some fun along the way.
Phase two opening of the Discovery Café and a dedicated exhibition area for the younger visitors, The Burrow will be opening soon. Cafe is not open yet but you can eat a picnic inside their creative space. You can purchase hot and cold drinks and snacks.
There is a car park outside which is £3 for 3 hours, £5 for 6 hours or £10 for 12 hours (Jan 2023)
You can use your Tesco clubcard points tripled up for your entry. If you don’t use Tesco however your ticket becomes a yearly pass which is also great value as we will visit at least a few more times this year as just so much to see and do inside.
